C = novice, used to mounting/dismounting unassisted, capable of applying basic aids, comfortable & in control at walk, trot & short canters. D = intermediate, firm seat, confident & in control at all paces E = strong intermediate, intermediate rider who is currently riding regularly & comfortable on long rides F = advanced, all of the above with soft hands & independent seat & capable of handling a spirited horse

PLEASE READ THE SECTION BELOW CAREFULLY:

The amount of hours ridden daily (between 2-6) will depend largely on your ability and fitness level as well as the local weather conditions at the time. During the hot summer months rides may be of a shorter duration (2-3 hours), and earlier in the day when the temperatures are lower. Autumn, winter and spring rides tend to be longer (3-6 hours) when the temperatures are cooler.

Hot Summers
Sunbathing almost every day from June to September. Virtually no rain. Daily highs about 35C and nightly lows 15C. Shirt sleeve weather all the time evenings included.

Mild Winters
Mixture of beautiful clear, sunny winter days with overcast but warm days. Evenings noticeably cooler. First rains are late September or early October, can be heavy rarely last more than a day or two. Daily highs about 20C and nightly lows rarely much below 10C. Pullover in the day, jacket in the evening.

IF A GUEST CANCELS THEIR HOLIDAY WITH LESS THAN SIX WEEKS WRITTEN NOTICE THE FULL AMOUNT IS DUE.

As trail riding is an "activity" sport all participants should be fit and healthy. Any medical problems should be discussed with your doctor before booking.

We reserve the right to cancel (without refund) riding under adverse weather conditions, ie when it is extremely hot or too wet and slippery. In order to provide you with the best holiday possible please inform the ranch of any disability you may have prior to your arrival.

Horse riding is classified as a HIGH RISK sport and is carried out entirely at your own risk. All guests MUST have full travel insurance. Rancho Ferrer cannot accept responsibility for injury illness or damage caused beyond their control. All guests are advised to wear proper protective head-gear, and bring with them an E 1-11 form obtainable from most UK post offices.
